Ten new Grand View Memorial Park public visitation dates, including upcoming major year-end and religious holidays, were approved today by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Anthony J. Mohr.
Thanks to the new schedule, family and friends of loved ones buried at the cemetery will be able to visit graves on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day and Armenian Christmas for the first time in three years.
The dates approved are Sundays, Oct. 12 and 26; Sundays, Nov. 9 and 23; Thursday Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving); Sundays Dec. 7 and 21; Thursday Dec. 25 (Christmas); Thursday, Jan. 1 (New Year's Day) and Tuesday, Jan. 6 (Armenian Christmas.)
The hours for each visitation remain the traditional noon to 4 p.m.
Sunday limited visitations were first sponsored by the city of Glendale, from August 2006 to June 2007.
Visitations lapsed until this past March 30, when attorneys on both sides of the on-going case ( David Baum, representing cemetery owner of record Moshe Goldsman, and Paul Ayers and Mary Der-Parseghian, representing families and property owners for their respective firms) joined forces to open the gates again on court-approved dates and oversee the operation.
