June 1, 2011 -- We’re pleased to announce that Grand View Memorial Park is well on its way to operating much more like a “normal” cemetery now that the major grounds work has been completed.
Until the cemetery is sold, Grand View will be open to the public every Sunday from 12-4pm, with gates closing to incoming traffic at 3:45pm sharp.
As part of the normalization process, beginning July 3, 2011, we will no longer organize specialized Findagrave initiatives.
Instead, volunteers will be asked to follow normal Findagrave procedures -- claiming photo requests from the Grand View Findagrave page, fulfilling them independently and releasing claims in a timely manner in the event that you cannot fulfill your obligation.
All known interments at Grand View have already been uploaded to the database. If you photograph markers in addition to the specific requests, please search the name here before uploading your images and do not create duplicate memorial pages. (This creates extra work for office volunteers and makes us grumpy.)
If you need assistance with grave locations, please visit the Administration Office at the front of the park. Office volunteers (many of us Findagrave veterans!) there will be happy to provide you with all the necessary resources to accomplish your photographic mission.
